Tulsa's Riverparks is home to another beautiful bronze wildlife statue, in this case a Porcupine Herd Caribou, located near 46th and Riverside.
NatureWorks has now placed 23 statues around Tulsa, 16 of them are along the recreation trail at the Riverparks.
NatureWorks' statue program is paid for entirely with private donations, says John Cowen, a NatureWorks participant.
"This money comes for NatureWorks and also comes from our monument patrons, patrons that donate $2500 each year for a monument."
Cowen says the caribou statue honors Enid trucking-company owner John Groendyke, a longtime wildlife conservationist in Oklahoma.
