OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor has filed a lawsuit against Ascension Healthcare, in an attempt to block the company from firing employees who do not get a COVID-19 vaccination.
Ascension Healthcare is one of the largest healthcare networks in the country. The company is based in St. Louis and has hospitals across the country, including one in Tulsa.
Some employees claim they have been denied a religious exemption from getting the vaccine.
“We will not tolerate any form of religious discrimination against Oklahomans who seek reasonable accommodations from vaccine mandates based on their sincerely held religious beliefs,” said O’Connor.
The State has asked the Court to block Ascension from suspending or firing anyone who does not get the vaccine.
This is a developing story.
