The OTA says that they, along with the Kansas Turnpike Authority, passed resolutions this week to allow "interoperability" between their respective systems.

That means all Oklahoma Pikepass users will be able to use their Pikepasses on all Kansas toll roads and vice-versa.

Governor Mary Fallin called the announcement a "tremendous asset for motorists who travel between the two states and routinely take toll roads, both here in Oklahoma and in Kansas.”

A news release says the Kansas Turnpike is a 236-mile road that stretches from the Oklahoma border at I-35 to the Missouri border in Kansas City and connects the state’s largest metropolitan areas.

The partnership should be up and working by the end of 2014.

In October of last year the OTA announced a similar partnership with the North Texas Tollway Authority for drivers who travel to the Dallas area that should begin this fall.

Oklahoma Pikepass users can already pay for parking at Tulsa International Airport using their Pikepass.
