A persistent natural gas problem at Sapulpa High School disrupted classes at the high school and junior high school today for the second time in two weeks.

There was a natural gas leak at the high school last week that canceled classes.

Officials say ONG did repairs last week and that tests over the weekend came back clean.

But today, when they turned on the furnaces at the high school, there was a strong natural gas odor again.

ONG is back on the scene, trying to sort out what’s going on.

School officials say the problem seems to be with just one furnace, but they’re waiting 24 hours before letting kids back in, just to be safe.

Students from both the high school and junior high school were all relocated to the Chieftan Center where they could finish up their schoolwork or just be picked up by parents.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the plan is to have high school and junior high school students do distance-learning on Thursday.
