Many of us can remember the burn after a trip down a hot metal slide when we were kids.
Now that there are plastic slides at many playgrounds, which one is better?
You’re probably thinking the metal slide is hotter.
But, our thermometer showed the plastic slide was hotter by 15 degrees.
First, we tested the metal slide at Hunter Park in Tulsa.
According to our thermometer, it was 127 degrees.
Then, it was on to Veteran’s Pond Park in Jenks.
The thermometer showed a whopping 142 degrees.
We also found a father with two little girls who were at the park to have some fun on the slide.
He tells KRMG, “There’s no way I would put them on a metal slide. That’s why we came here to check out the slide. It would be a little shocking if it was that hot.”
The father said he wouldn’t dream of putting his daughters on a metal slide on a day this hot.
He was shocked that the slide they were about to play on was that hot.
Both slides are in similar conditions.
They both face the same direction, have no shade and have tree mulch underneath.
