The Broken Arrow Police Department was called to St. Francis Children’s Hospital to investigate a child who was injured on Friday, and has since died.
A three-year-old child was transported to the hospital with head trauma about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Police tell KRMG a family member initially took the boy to Hillcrest South, but due to the nature and severity of his injuries, he was transported to St. Francis Children's Hospital and police were notified.
On Monday, the child was pronounced dead at roughly 10:00 a.m., according to Cpl. Leon Calhoun with BAPD.
Police are now investigating the case as a possible homicide, but haven't released any other details.
Calhoun said he could not say at this point whether police had any previous contacts with the family.
He said they are inteviewing the family members, as well as other possible witnesses, to establish a timeline and determine exactly what happened to the boy.
