Trending: E-cigarettes used for marijuana

E-cigarettes and "vaping" (Russell Mills)

E-cigarettes continue to boom in popularity, so it's not surprising that people are finding new uses for them.

Some have begun using them for medications, and now the technology is increasingly used to inhale THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.

Hundreds of websites and instructional videos have sprouted on the Internet, showing people how to make the tincture out of marijuana, and then how to use the tincture in an e-cigarette.

Naturally, most of them focus on the medicinal aspects of cannabis, but many don't bother.

Tulsa police spokesman Ofcr. Leland Ashley tells KRMG they haven't seen a lot of people using e-cigarettes with a marijuana tincture, but some individual officers do report finding them in bars and during traffic stops.

It's likely to become a growing problem where marijuana remains illegal. since the e-cigarettes make the pot hard to detect.

It doesn't look any different than the normal "e-juice" used in the devices, and the odor is minimal.
