Lakeview Baptist Church in Tulsa has been broken into 34 times in the last 2 years and close to 100 times since 2005.
Pastor Darold Bruton tells KRMG that the thieves have stolen just about everything. Bruton says, "They stole the sound system. They stole the TV's, VCR's, DVD's, heaters. I'm on my 3rd big air conditioning unit outside."
A local security company, Security by Black, heard about the rash of break-ins and wanted to help Rev. Bruton.
Crews spent several hours Friday morning installing a monitored security system at no cost to the church.
Pastor Bruton says the church wasn't sacred during the 34 break-ins in the last 2 years. Bruton says, "2nd Peter tells us that in the last days there will be scoffers of the word, scoffers of God and I think that is what it is."
Bruton tells KRMG that the church will now be able to replace some of the stolen items now that the building is protected by that security system.
