The Tulsa Central Library downtown plans to reopen its doors Friday after closing for three days due to the presence of bedbugs.
Library CEO Gary Shaffer tells KRMG the library replaced all overstuffed furniture with metal and plastic furniture as a precaution.
He says this is the first time in the history of the Tulsa City-County Library System any building has closed due to bedbugs.
A library patron discovered the parasites after he was bitten by one about noon on Tuesday.
The library called in "Ms. Liberty Belle," a bedbug-sniffing Beagle to help sweep the building for further infestation.
We're told she didn't find any additional problem areas.
Library spokesman John Francher tells us the library will reopen at 9:00 a.m. Friday.
