TULSA, Okla. — Some local art now on display at Tulsa International.
The exhibit, titled “Tulsa Artist Series” features the work of three local artists; Ariana Jakub, Cristiana Prado, and Josh Stout
TIA Marketing and Air Service Director, Andrew Pierini says art has been a main focus for the airport since 2006, when the Cultural Advisory Group was formed.
“We really developed a strategic plan on how we can incorporate art and the culture we have going on here in Tulsa, to really show off that flair here in the airport,” Pierini told KRMG.
Pierini says the new display is a great way to showcase the talent living in the city, right as people step off the plane.
“We’re always looking at new ways to bring art to the airport.”
Ariana Jakub’s exhibit, “From Trenton to Tulsa”, includes a painting titled, “Departure” that is made with wine on watercolor paper, and bud vases that are ceramic with natural objects collected by the artist.
Cristiana Prado’s exhibit features ceramic pieces made of glazed stoneware. Prado is an artist born and raised in Brazil who currently teaches art at Tulsa Community College and Dual Language Academy.
Josh Stout’s exhibit, “Wild Side Tulsa”, features several oil on canvas knife paintings. Born in Tulsa, Stout uses art as an outlet for expressing his voice and his experiences in life.
The artists’ displays will run through January 2021, when new art will be added to the exhibit.
