Thousands turn out for Tulsa Tough

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Tough executive director Malcolm McCollum says over the course of three days nearly 400 combined registrants participated in the crit races, 3,000 signed up for the gran fondo and more than 300 signed up for the Sunday TOWNY race.

While there isn’t an exact count, there was no shortage of spectators either. McCollum says he expects they beat the 50k spectator marker.

He adds it felt great to be back after a year off and to help boost the economy after a rough year. Something Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum agreed with.

“We just got robbed of so much over the course of the pandemic so it was great to have it back,” said Bynum.
