Your favorite drug store may be on the verge of closing.

Walgreen's has finalized its’ purchase of the USA Drug pharmacy chain and that means almost two-dozenTulsa metro Med-X, Drug Warehouse and May's Drug stores will be shutting down in November.

Nationally, the transaction includes 144 stores that operate under the USA Drug, Super D Drug, May’s Drug, Med-X and Drug Warehouse names located in Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Tennessee.

Nine USA Drug-affiliated stores in Tulsa will remain open.

Walgreen's is the nation's largest drugstore chain with 7,929 drugstores and fiscal sales of $72 billion in 2011.
