United Airlines Star Wars plane stops in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — United Airlines Star Wars themed plane made a quick stop in Tulsa today.

In 2020, the airline announced it was teaming up with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the final movie of the Skywalker saga, to offer customers and employees a unique flight experience.

The Star Wars-themed Boeing 737-800 aircraft sports a custom paint job with a light saber on the plane’s back fin. Passengers will also be greeting with Star Wars music during the boarding process, a safety demonstration video featuring characters from the film and custom headrests with emblems of the film’s dueling factions, the Resistance and the First Order..

“United Airlines and the Star Wars franchise share a common goal: connect people and unite the world,” said Mark Krolick, United’s vice president of marketing. “We are thrilled to join forces and help promote the concluding chapter of the Skywalker story.”

Tulsa International Airport confirmed the themed plane made a stop in Tulsa Friday morning, before heading on to Houston then Turks and Caicos. TIA said you can’t specifically book a flight on this plane, it is just a part of United’s regular fleet so if you want to ride on it you better the hope the force is with you.
