A home near Pine and Wheeling is destroyed after it caught fire around 1:00 Thursday afternoon.
Neighbors say an elderly couple lived in the house for decades.
Stan May, Tulsa Fire Department Spokesman, says, "One deceased victim was already in the house. One occupant made it out."
The husband survived.
May says the older home had been added onto over the years, and the structure was unstable.
The smoke could be seen from blocks away.
Firefighters planned on staying on the scene for several hours as the fire continued to smolder.
The name of the victim isn't being released until all of the family is notified.
The cause is under investigation.
