LANGSTON, Okla. — The Langston University Police Department says they received a call Tuesday morning with a threat similar to what other historically Black colleges across the country have received.

Langston is about 20 miles from Stillwater and Oklahoma’s only HBCU.

The University released a statement to students Tuesday reading in part:

“As you may be aware, HBCUs throughout the country have reported receiving bomb threats directed at their campuses. At Langston University, we have been working behind the scenes with the FBI to prepare and plan in light of these recent threats. Unfortunately, the Langston University Police Department received a call this morning with a threat similar to what other institutions across the country received.”

Langston officials say they have no reason to believe the threat is credible but police will continue to work with the FBI to investigate.
