Catalytic converter stolen from Owasso food pantry delivery truck

OWASSO, Okla. — The Owasso community rallied to help a local nonprofit food pantry after someone stole the catalytic converter from the truck.

Neighbors in Need uses the truck to pick up food to distribute to families in the Owasso area.

They help feed 75 families every week with everything from frozen meat and bread to canned goods.

Neighbors in Need said the truck was parked alongside their pantry location on N. Main St. overnight -- like it usually was -- when someone cut away the truck’s catalytic converter.

Neighbors in Need said they’re disgusted and frustrated that someone would steal from a nonprofit and the repair could have put a dent in the budget they use to feed families.

They took to Facebook after the incident, and fortunately the community came to the rescue -- covering all of the repair cost with more than $1,000 worth of donations.

Neighbors in Need says they’re thankful for the community support they’ve received.

If you’d like to help with their mission to feed needy families visit their Facebook page, their website neighborsinneed.help or send a donation through the mail -- including food to 708 N. Main St. Owasso, OK 74055.
