Pawhuska’s Pioneer Woman Mercantile undergoing complete remodel

PAWHUSKA, Okla. — The Pioneer Woman Mercantile started a large remodeling project on Monday that will feature a brand new layout, once finished.

The business, now open for six years in Pawhuska, said on social media that the The Mercantile restaurant and bakery has temporarily moved down the block to The Mercantile event space for the next several weeks while the restaurant and bakery undergo a complete remodel.

The Mercantile said its retail store will operate out of its original space and at The Pioneer Woman Collection store three doors down so that the store’s floors can be replaced. The entire floor replacement is expected to take three weeks.

The retail store will be back to normal with new merchandise by the third or fourth week of January.

The newly renovated upstairs bakery is expected to be finished by mid-to-late February, and The Mercantile restaurant remodel should be complete and back in its original building by the middle of April.

“We love you all and we thank you for your patience as we plow through these exciting changes,” said said an update from The Mercantile staff. “Even though there’ll be a few hiccups here and there, have no doubt that the incredible staff at The Mercantile will be here to show you the best time throughout the whole process!”

The staff said to expect new booths, tables, colorful finishes and a glass-enclosed private dining room, with new surprises added to the menu.

The Mercantile notes winter hours for January and February are as follows:

  • Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Friday & Saturday: 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed (as normal)
