TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE 9/14/2022: Tulsa police arrested 42-year-old Eli Brown for first-degree murder for stabbing and killing 68-year-old David Burnside at Seminole Hills Apartments in north Tulsa on Tuesday.

Police said Brown was Burnside’s roommate. Brown was also arrested for destroying evidence after former conviction of a felony.


Tulsa police are searching for a person who stabbed and killed a 68-year-old man in north Tulsa on Tuesday.

The man was found at Seminole Hills Apartments at East Virgin Street and North Utica Avenue around 3 p.m.

Police said the man was possibly a guest staying at an apartment. According to police, the man may have been left there after the stabbing for up to 12 hours before the person living there came home around 2:30 p.m.

“The challenge with a case like this is collecting the evidence, and making sure we maintain the scene preservation, and getting consistent information from witnesses,” said Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg.

Police do not have anyone in custody, but said there could possibly be more than one suspect.
