SAPULPA, Okla. — Sapulpa police are investigating a homicide that happened on Saturday.

In a press release, police said they were called out to a home near W. Teel Rd. and S. Hickory St around 10 a.m. for a possible stabbing.

Once police arrived, they found a 34-year-old woman, later identified as Brittany Gowdy, inside the home, dead from multiple stab wounds.

Police later found and arrested Gowdy’s boyfriend, 28-year-old Joshua Stafford, for first-degree murder.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has since been started to help pay for funeral expenses for Gowdy.
