TULSA, Okla. — There are now thirteen lawsuits filed against the owners of Maplewood Care Center, Senior Living Properties.

Michelle Butler’s brother Kent West is named in one of the lawsuits for negligence. Negligence that she said, led to her brother getting a bad foot infection.

“We sent pictures, but the pictures did not give him no justice so when we went up there, we saw how his feet actually looked and it was worse than what the pictures actually showed,” said Butler.

Greg Denney filed that lawsuit on June 8 according to court documents.

“It is the worst-case scenario I have ever seen of a wound before,” said Denney.

The first lawsuit filed by his firm, according to court documents, was May 26. Since then, he said they have filed 12 more lawsuits, including two for wrongful death.

“We have thirteen lawsuits filed. We have eleven lawsuits for negligence and wrongful death and two whistleblower lawsuits,” he said.

Thursday, Denney filed a motion with Tulsa County District Court to have all the cases consolidated and be heard as one, in one court room. The motion shows all cases filed beginning May 26 to the most recent lawsuit filed on July 27.

Back in June, FOX23 spoke with the Chief Executive Officer for Senior Living Properties, Cassie Mistretta, when the lawsuits started being filed.

At that time, she told FOX23 her employees and staff were not being properly represented.

“Staff who treat these residents like family. We make mistakes. We are imperfect but they work really hard,” Mistretta said. “We always take all and any allegations seriously and we really appreciate feedback from our customers and employees so we can address issues as they arise.”

Issues families now want addressed in court.

FOX23 contacted the company on Thursday afternoon for a comment about the filings on Thursday. We were told by their media representative that they are working on a statement.
