TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police are investigating after a woman was found naked and critically injured on the side of the road in south Tulsa early Wednesday, Aug. 10, morning.
Police told FOX23 that the initial call went out as an injury car accident near 71st and Lewis, and the traffic unit was investigating.
However, once officers got to the scene, they found no tire tracks or debris — a usual indicator that someone had been hit by a car. The woman reportedly had a lot of bruises and internal injuries, according to Tulsa police.
At this time, investigators said they believe she may have jumped out of a car.
A Tulsa resident, Ronald Noble, was the one who called police. He saw the woman on the side of the road while riding his bike Wednesday morning.
“I happened to go up on the sidewalk, and I noticed someone laying in the grass,” Noble told FOX23. “I noticed it was a woman who didn’t [have] clothes on, so I stopped.”
He continued, “I called 911, and they sent me to EMSA.”
Police said the woman was taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition almost a week later. Because of her condition, investigators have not been able to talk to her about what really happened or who could be involved.
Police said the woman is a 28-year-old Black woman, that is 5′3″ and around 150 lbs.
If anyone saw her in the area at the time, police ask that you call Crime Stoppers at (918)-596-COPS.
“Their conscious should weigh on them ... and they should come forward,” said Noble, regarding anyone who could have been involved. “That was somebody’s daughter, mama, sister, something. It’s sad.”
This is a developing story.
