D’Aundre Holmes-Wilfork pleaded guilty to property theft and was sentenced to five years of probation and community service, KTRK reported.

Among the items stolen from Vince Wilfork’s Friendswood, Texas, home were two Super Bowl rings, two AFC championship rings, and a college football championship ring from the University of Miami, The Galveston Daily News reported.

Wilfork had initially believed he had misplaced the rings until he was contacted by a fan who said that someone in a memorabilia group was selling them, as we previously reported. Investigators said Holmes-Wilfork sold the rings without his father’s permission for $62,000, KTRK reported.

Vince Wilfork, who was recently named a finalist for the Patriots Hall of Fame, helped the team win two Super Bowls in 2004 and 2014, NBC Sports reported.

Prior to the theft case, Holmes-Wilfork played for the UH Cougars football team, until he was arrested and charged with drug possession in 2016, KTRK reported.

In a statement to The Galveston Daily News, Holmes-Wilfork’s lawyer said his client was moving on with the support of his parents: “The outcome that emerged from the case was a result of much self reflection and healing on the defendant’s part and the willingness of his parents to forgive him and show him unconditional love with the sincere hope that he can be rehabilitated and go on to live a happy and productive life.”
