LADSON, S.C. — A South Carolina man is accused of sexual misconduct after his wife allegedly found him in a bed with a 7-year-old girl, authorities said.
Anthony Keith Furman, 50, of Ladson, was arrested on March 20 and charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and committing or attempting a lewd act with a person under 14 years old, according to Charleston County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by WCIV-TV, the woman found Furman in bed next to a 7-year-old child with a bedsheet pulled up to their necks.
The woman told authorities that when she pulled the sheet down, her husband quickly moved his hand away from the victim, WCBD-TV reported.
According to the affidavit, which was filed Wednesday, the woman asked the girl what Furman had been doing, and the child responded that he was touching her inappropriately.
Furman fled the area after the incident and was later arrested by Charleston County authorities, according to WCIV.
Bail was set at $30,000. Furman was being held at Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in North Charleston, WCBD reported.
