Tornado reported near Little Rock, Arkansas; see photos, videos from the scene

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A tornado reportedly struck near Little Rock, Arkansas, on Monday as a storm system swept through the region, damaging homes and trees while knocking out power to thousands of customers.

According to CNN, the National Weather Service tweeted shortly after 8 p.m. CDT that a twister had been spotted near Olmstead, less than 20 miles north of Little Rock.

“THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION! BE IN YOUR SHELTER NOW!” the agency warned residents.

By late Monday, about 3,700 customers in Arkansas had lost power, KTHV reported. It wasn’t immediately clear whether anyone was hurt.
