Tulsa police try to arrest man on warrants, ends up running away and hiding in attic

TULSA, Okla. — A man was arrested Friday after police say he broke into a home and tried to hide from officers in an attic.

Scotty Tatum was wanted on several warrants and police went to a known address for Tatum to take him to jail, police said.

When police arrived at a home on East Young Court, Tatum ran from officers and went to a house nearby where he kicked in the back door and then climbed into the attic.

Police said they were able to safely get several people out of the home so they could try to get Tatum out of the attic.

Tatum suffered a dog bite from the K-9 unit who responded and was taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Tatum is facing several new charges including, first-degree burglary and resisting arrest, according to jail records.
