TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE (12/4/22) — Isais Torres Jr. has been arrested.
Rosa Valla Dolid, Juana Mendoza and Cassandra Valla Dolid are all searching for answers after Tulsa Police said their 32-year-old sister, Monica Deleon, was murdered Wednesday.
“She made a friend wherever she went,” said Rosa. “Anybody she could talk to she made friends with, and sometimes she trusted more people than she should have.”
Tulsa Police are still searching for 28-year-old Isaias Torres Jr. who is wanted in connection to Deleon’s murder. Torres is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to investigators. Wednesday, officers found Deleon in an east Tulsa home with a cut on her neck. She was taken to the hospital where she died.
“She was cut on her head and some other places,” said Tulsa Police Homicide Lt. Brandon Watkins.
An affidavit said Torres came to his dad’s house around 3:00 a.m. asking for help. His father told investigators that Torres was wet. The affidavit also revealed that Torres directed his father to an open field where his father saw a car half submerged in a pond. Torres told his father that the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend, Deleon, according tot he affidavit. Torres directed his father to a nearby field where Deleon was laying.
The affidavit indicated that this is where police found he car in a pond and a large pool of blood in a nearby field.
Torres’ father told investigators that he came back to his house while Torres stayed with Deleon. His father grabbed blankets and alerted his wife to the situation. He also told police that he returned to the field and loaded Deleon into his truck, and he said Deleon had blood on her, but he thought she was drunk.
His father also said that once they got back to his house, he realized something was “very wrong” with Deleon. He then called the police. Torres’ father said when he called police, his son fled the area.
Cassandra said she wishes she could have been there for her sister.
“We wish that we could have saved her, but we can’t,” she said. “We can’t even hold her now. We can’t even talk to her [anymore].”
Watkins told FOX23 that Tulsa Police is doing everything they can to find Torres.
“There’s a warrant for his arrest,” he said. “We’re actively out there looking for him. We know he knows we’re looking for him.”
Juana said that their family just wants Torres to pay.
“We just want to make sure he’s caught,” she told FOX23.
Cassandra said their whole family is just left with more questions as police search for Torres.
“I just feel like her death was senseless,” Cassandra said. “We don’t know what happened or why.”
Her sisters set up a GoFundMe to raise money for Deleon’s funeral expenses.
