Wednesday is the last day for Oklahomans to apply for federal assistance for damage sustained in May’s storms and flooding.

Sept. 28 is the last day to apply for FEMA disaster recovery assistance for severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred May 2 through May 8.

FEMA says federal assistance may help eligible survivors pay for rent, home repair or home replacement. Other disaster-related needs include vehicle repair or replacement, funeral expenses, medical or dental expenses or other costs associated with recovery from a disaster.

If you have not yet applied for federal assistance you can submit an application online at DisasterAssistance.gov.

You can also call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. If you use a video relay service, captioned telephone service or other communication services, please provide FEMA the specific number assigned for that service. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
