CATOOSA, Okla. — Three Catoosa children wandering alone leads to a good Samaritan finding their mother’s body in their home.
Skylar Horn was taking a walk like any other day but he decided to take a different route.
“I think God was telling me to come down this way because I needed to find them babies,” Horn said.
As he walked, he saw two little girls, pushing a stroller with an infant in it.
“I asked him where was their mom and dad and she told me her mom was asleep,” he recalled.
Horn offered to see the girls home, thinking their mother was probably worried.
As they walked, the oldest girl told him more about their mom.
“She said her mom has been asleep all day, and she has blood coming out of her nose,” Horn explained.
When Horn arrived home with the girls, he knew he had to go inside and check it out.
“We got [to their house], I open the door, I noticed her mom was on the floor with blood coming out of her mouth,” he recalled.
Horn continued, “I checked to see if she was breathing, and she wasn’t.”
He took the kids out of the house and he called 911.
“The oldest daughter ... kept asking ‘Is my mom OK? Is my mom OK?’” He recalled.
Horn said the daughter indicated her mom had been deceased for a while.
“She said ‘When I woke up this morning my mom was like this,’” he recalled. “So I don’t know how long the mom was passed away, but it had to be a little bit because her hands were blue.”
Catoosa Police came and investigated the scene. They handed the investigation over to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).
OSBI said in a press release the death seems suspicious.
As for Horn, his good deed has him up at night.
“I don’t know how to feel. I haven’t slept very much, I don’t really have an appetite. I keep seeing her mom in my head,” he told FOX23.
And he still wants to help.
“I wanted to reach out to somebody to give them my number to help the kids in anyway possible. I know that they just lost their mama, and they need some type of help so I just wanna be there for them,” he said.
