AG’s office responds after employee was arrested for hit and run, ramming a patrol car, police chase

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office released a statement Wednesday evening in response to one of their employees, Courtney Jordan, was arrested following a police chase in Broken Arrow Tuesday.

“The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office is in contact with the Broken Arrow Police Department regarding an incident that occurred Tuesday, July 12th,” said Rachel Roberts, Director of Communications. “Courtney Jordan is currently on administrative leave while our office gathers more information. Ms. Jordan has been with the Attorney General’s office for three months.

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Broken Arrow police officers were dispatched to a hit and run crash on Pecan Ave, near Elm and Kenosha.

Police ran the license plate tag after obtaining it from witnesses at the scene, and the car was linked 36-year-old Jordan, and it was previously seen to two attempted burglaries only 30 minutes prior to the hit and run. Officers found the car near the hit and run scene and initiated a traffic stop, Jordan struck a pedestrian with their vehicle and drove off.

Jordan drove through various commercial businesses near Aspen and Kenosha before coming to stop in a business parking lot. Officers said she ignored commands and rammed a patrol car, causing the vehicle to hit the officer behind it before driving off again.

She, again traveling at a low rate of speed, continue through several commercial parking lots until leaving south on Aspen Ave. Police said Jordan continued, driving faster south on Aspen Ave and turning onto Washington.

Broken Arrow police explained all individuals involved in collisions caused by Jordan suffered non-life threatening injuries.

“Attorney General O’Connor is thankful no one was seriously hurt and grateful to the Broken Arrow Police Department for their response and handling of the situation,” said Roberts.

Once at Elm Pl and Washington, Jordan collided with several vehicles at that intersection. Jordan again tried to leave the scene before crashing into a privacy fence on Elm Pl where she was apprehended. Police say she was medically cleared shortly after she was apprehended.

She is a Tribal Member of the Cherokee Nation. Jordan faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Leaving the scene of an injury collision (x2), Felony Eluding, Leaving the scene of a property damage collision, and Larceny from a dwelling.
