WAGONER, Okla. — The City of Wagoner received a federal transportation grant that will held improve traffic flow and enhance safety, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced this week.
The $7 million grant will help fund a multi-use path, build a sidewalk, street curbs and a side path, and build a trail underpass crossing of US- 69 in the city, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The grant is part of the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program that helps urban and rural communities move forward on transportation projects.
The City of Wagoner said the project will reduce crashes and injuries by separating motorized and non-motorized modes of transportation.
The project will help also reduce flooding and congestion and improve travel time by reducing road closures due to flooding.
