Clark Howard brings ‘Blitz Build’ to Tulsa

Volunteers work together as they help build a home in north Tulsa.

TULSA, Okla. — Clark Howard and Green Country Habitat for Humanity (GCHFH) are kicking off a 250-home project in north Tulsa Saturday.

Howard annually sponsors individual home builds with Habitat for Humanity, but this time he wanted to do something special.

In a first-ever ‘Blitz Build,’ six new homes are now being built simultaneously in north Tulsa. These six are being built in the Dunbar area neighboring Carver Middle School.

Thank you Clark Howard for continuing to invest in the Tulsa community. 🏡

This Blitz Build occurs during an expansion for GCHFH that includes servicing new communities, opening new ReStore retail locations, and increasing the number of homes built annually. All while partnering with hardworking families to purchase these homes in Green Country.

“Because [Green Country Habit for Humanity] works. It creates independence. It creates opportunity. It improves neighborhoods. And makes it possible for a family that might not have ever been able to own a home, to own their own home,” Howard told KRMG while at one of the build sites.

“And I’m cheap. So if I’m willing to open up my wallet and spend it on something, you know that the money is being spent well.”

We are battling the rain and wind but the walls continue to go up.

The first six homes being built this weekend are the first of many, as GCHFH plans to build 250 new homes in north Tulsa over the next five to seven years.
