Winter has caught up with some of the counties north of Tulsa.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 9:00 pm tonight to 6:00 am tomorrow morning for Washinton, Osage, Craig, Nowata, Ottawa, and Delaware counties.
The Advisory also applies to Benton, Washington, Carroll, and Madison counties in Northwest Arkansas.
The National Weather Service says light snow will develop this evening across northeast Oklahoma
and spread into far northwest Arkansas after midnight.
Accumulations are expected to be one inch or less, but gusty northerly winds will continue creating areas of blowing snow.
KRMG News is closely following a strong cold front that's moving across the midwest right now.
We expect this system will impact the Tulsa area this afternoon around 4-5pm.
Before the cold front hits, we'll have breezy sunshine and near 60-degrees.
News on 6 Meteorologist Travis Meyer tells us that as the cold front moves across Green Country this afternoon, the winds will blow from the north (gusting as high as 40MPH) and temps will drop to 25-degrees tonight.
There's a chance of light rain and snow (20%) from 9pm-3am tonight into Thursday.
It'll be clear and cold tomorrow with a high of 35.
We'll see sunshine and highs in the mid-50s by Saturday and Sunday.
