Longtime Tulsa radio host Brent Douglas has passed away.
Douglas and Phil Stone, ‘Phil and Brent,’ hosted KMOD’s morning show for 27 years.
KMOD shared the news on social media Saturday morning.
“Brent’s impact continues to be felt every day, not just on KMOD, but on any social media platform.” The station posted.
Phil and Brent enjoyed tremendous success locally and became nationally recognized for their famous prank calls with Brent’s ‘Roy D. Mercer’ character.
Mercer would call someone, or some place, and air his grievances with them... of course the accusations were never true and the victim on the other line was often set up by a friend.

Shortly after Phil and Brent left KMOD in 2012, Stone passed away at the age of 57.
“We were just trying to make each other laugh and that was all it was, and everybody else laughed along with us.” Douglas said of their work together after Stone’s death. ““It was two people that were put together out of weird circumstances that would have never happened before or again, and I’ll miss him more than I have words to say.”
In 2020, Douglas shared publicly that he’d been dealing with health struggles.
Others in Tulsa radio began sharing memories with Douglas after learning of his passing.
“Look up ‘legend’ and his and Phil’s pictures are there. As I got to know Brent over the years, [we worked in the same building for 3 years] I knew him as a terrific, genuine human being who never took himself too seriously.” Bob Cooper wrote.
“I’ve been seeing that Brent Douglas passed away. May he Rock In Peace.” Lynn Hernandez said.
