A Broken Arrow man is accused of molesting his adopted 14-year-old daughter, and his wife is accused of enabling the abuse.

According to court records, the girl told authorities her adopted father, Stephen Mark Rodgers, frequently touched her inappropriately and often went into the bathroom while she was showering, even kissing her on the mouth while she was in the shower.

The affidavit also states that she told investigators there were two instances, one where Rodgers was cuddling with her and another where he was “play fighting” with her, when he was wasn’t wearing underwear and that his genitals were touching her.

Investigators say the girl told her mother, Stacie Wideman, who is married to Rodgers, that it all made her uncomfortable, but that Wideman dismissed the girl’s concerns.

The girl told authorities that Wideman was in the house when a number of the incidents occurred.

The court records state that when Wideman was questioned about it by the girl’s counselor, Wideman “tried to brush it off” and claimed that her daughter invited Rodgers “to do these things,” but the girl denied that she invited Rodgers to do any of the actions.

Rodgers is facing charges of lewd molestation, and Wideman is facing a charge of Enabling Child Sexual Abuse.
