Nightshift Manager Breanna Degraffenreid says a popular Sapulpa restaurant is closed after it recently caught fire.

Degraffenreid says the Patriot Café in Sapulpa caught fire Sunday evening and smoldered into early Monday morning.

Now, the restaurant is out of commission and employees are out of work.

Degraffenreid says it started in the kitchen area by the back door. Employees are unsure what started the fire.

She says the restaurant was closed the week prior due to the winter storm. Staff are unsure when it will be back open.

Luckily, the fire did not spread from the kitchen to the dining area, which would have caused more damage.

She says someone delivering food overnight saw the fire and called it in.
