Historic downtown Tulsa building now closed after being damaged by 2011 earthquake

A downtown Tulsa building with a restaurant inside is closed after an earthquake rattled the city over a year ago.

The Excalibur building has been a downtown Tulsa fixture near Third and Main for almost a century.

The Excalibur has been empty for over a year now since that 5.6 magnitude earthquake in November 2011.

Recently, parts of the building started falling to the ground. World Publishing, the new owners of the building, hired engineers to do an inspection.

After finding the building was unsafe, the city closed the sidewalks around the Excalibur and put up scaffolding to catch any more debris that might fall.

The Arby's that occupied the first floor of the building closed. KRMG is told that plans are in the works to relocate the restaurant.

World Publishing is considering their options on what to do with the building.
