BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) said the high school and Freshman Academy were put under a lockout following hoax threats Monday morning.
BAPS said the Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD) asked the school to enact a lockout at the high school campus and freshman academy. The Creekwood Campuses were also placed on lockout due to proximity.
BAPD’s request was based on information they received from an anonymous online threat made through the Veterans Crisis Hotline.
The same threat was also received in the Oklahoma City Area, leading law enforcement to believe it was a hoax.
BAPD officers remain on campus and the school will continue normal operations.
BAPS said the district is committed to doing everything possible to keep students and staff safe.
BAPS said additional updates will be shared if necessary.
