SAPULPA, Okla. — Update - Police arrested a second suspect in the vandalism of three different public parks in Sapulpa over the weekend, which included graffiti and hate speech.
Brandon Arnold was arrested on Sunday night and faces two counts of felony vandalism.
Katelynn Macke, 20, of Kellyville, was arrested on Monday afternoon. She faces one count of felony vandalism.
UPDATE (8/26/24) — The Sapulpa Police Department arrested a 19-year-old man Sunday night for the vandalism of Sapulpa parks.
Liberty and Heritage Park were spray painted with graffiti, vulgar language and obscene images, resulting in thousands of dollars in damage.
Police say they received information Sunday night regarding a possible suspect and located Brandon Arnold, who confessed to the vandalism.
Arnold was booked into the Creek County Justice Center on felony vandalism charges.
The Liberty Park playground remains closed as the city makes repairs and will open as soon as possible, police say.

Sapulpa Parks Director Carson Lynch said Sapulpa Police will be monitoring Liberty Park after explicit vandalism was found within the playground area.
Lynch said he suspects a group of teenagers vandalized the area, leaving thousands of dollars worth of damage.
The City of Sapulpa is working with park management and the equipment manufacturers on warranty to make repairs.
