An Owasso paraglider hits a snag, a DANGEROUS one today, as he took off behind the YMCA near 86th Street North and Highway 169 and got caught in some power lines.
Joshua Farrell saw the whole thing as it happened
“The direction he was going, and I just thought to myself and I said out loud, 'y'know, he's probably going to hit those power lines',” Farrell said.
And he was right.
Farrell threw the man a pocket knife from the ground, and he was able to cut himself free before first responders even got there.
“He wasn't injured, he was just upset because he knew he was out a lot of money on the machine itself,” said Owasso Police Lt. Nick Boatman.
Boatman says the man might also be liable for some of the cost of the power line repairs.
