This will make you think twice before getting back into a lake.
Over the holiday weekend, two men caught a 6 foot, 2 inch fish at Lake Texoma. An Oklahoma City newspaper reports the massive alligator gar was more than 30 inches in girth.
It took two men and some fancy footwork to pull the fish in.
For reference, the record for the largest fish caught in the state is a more than 250-pound alligator gar that measured about 8 feet.

We hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Game Wardens were busy around the state keeping sportsmen and wildlife as safe as possible.
Patrolling in the early morning hours around Lake Texoma Game Wardens T. Hale , B. Walker and T. Runyan ran into an impressive catch near the town of Mcbride. While camping for the weekend with friends, Tim Butler and Canton Stafford had set out several rods in hopes to catch some catfish action throughout the night.
Tim grabbed one of the rods when he saw it getting a bite. When the hook was set the fight was on. Tim said the huge fish stripped all his line from his reel twice before landing the monster. He fought the large fish, but said it would have been impossible to land the beast without the help of his buddy Canton!
Congrats on a great catch guys! The Wardens measured the Gator Gar at 6'2'' ft in length with 30 ½" girth. Butler said cleaning the gar would feed the whole camp for the rest of the weekend and then some!
