TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police identify the 18-year-old victim involved in a midtown Tulsa crash as Kaylesha Houston.

Police say Houston died instantly after crashing into a light pole near 31st and Joplin around 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say she was driving 70 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone before swerving and crashing into an electrical pole.

The road was closed in both directions on 31st Street in the area for several hours while police investigated.

The PSO power outage map initially showed 756 people were without power when the wreck happened. Crews from PSO immediately went to replace the electrical pole and power has been restored to the area.

Police are still investigating the crash.
