Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond made it official Monday that he’s running for governor.
Drummond made the announcement in Pawhuska, near his family’s ranch.
“As Governor, I will keep standing strong with President Trump to secure the border, deport illegal immigrants, and stop the flow of drugs and crime into Oklahoma.”
Drummond becomes the first Oklahoman to officially announce his candidacy.
“America’s best days are ahead of us, and the future of Oklahoma couldn’t be brighter,” said Drummond. “And we can build that future together and we can start right now.
Other names have been thrown out there, including those of State Superintendent Ryan Walters and former House Speaker Charles McCall, but no one else has publicly launched a campaign.
The election will be held in June of 2026.
