Many students were left standing in the cold during our last arctic blast wondering if their bus would ever arrive.
Several buses wouldn’t start and many of the drivers were sick.
There won’t be any precipitation to cause extra delays this time, but the cold can still be an issue. TPS has kept some buses indoors overnight this time to make them start easier in the early morning cold.
Chris Payne with TPS says they always have issues with buses starting, but he thinks these preventative measures with make things easier.
Should there be any delays; parents should receive a call from the district letting them know. Many parents didn’t get that call last time and weren’t happy about it. Payne understands.
“It’s not a perfect system, I’m sure there are some parents that we did miss. It’s just really hard when the weather doesn’t always cooperate.”
TPS expects far fewer issues since they won’t have to deal with snow and ice.
