POLICE: Suspect chased patrons at restaurant with a knife before officer involved shooting

Officer involved shooting

TULSA — Tulsa police say an officer involved shooting happened in the middle of the snowstorm Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to an armed robbery and stabbing at a restaurant near Woodland Hills Mall.

Officers were called to BJ’s Brewhouse after they say a 32-year-old man came into the restaurant and started to create a disturbance.

Witnesses reported that the suspect was yelling and threatening customers and employees at the front of the store.

In an attempt to calm the disturbance, the General Manager at BJ’s spoke with the suspect and tried to coerce him to leave.

That’s when officers say the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the manager.

When the manager put his hands up in a defensive manner, the suspect stabbed him in the hand.

After chasing others around in the restaurant for a brief time, the suspect left the store.

Police chased the suspect and one officer used his duty pistol and fired upon the suspect striking him. The suspect went to the ground and was taken into custody.

Both the victim and the suspect were transported to the hospital and expected to recover from their injuries.
