TULSA, Okla. — November is a month of big changes for Green Country.
In Tulsa, our readings have ranged from near 90 degrees for a record high down to 10 degrees.
When it comes to our average highs and lows, they have a steady drop throughout the month. Our average high goes from 68 degrees for the start of the month to 56 degrees by the last day of November.
Likewise, our average lows go from the mid-40s to a few degrees above freezing over those 30 days.
As the days get colder, snow occasionally occurs before the month’s end. In fact, we average just under 1″ of snow in Tulsa per November.
However, only about every one in four Novembers in Tulsa records measurable snowfall. The most snow Tulsa has ever seen in November mostly occurred in one blockbuster snowstorm at the very end of the month in 2006.
When it comes to overall precipitation, Tulsa averages 2.66″ a November, but has recorded over 8″ in the record November of 1931.
When it comes to the Outlook for this November, the Climate Prediction Center forecasts a warmer and potentially wetter than average month ahead.
