TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police said a woman shot her ex-boyfriend after he broke into her house and began assaulting her early Thursday morning.
Police said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at a home near 11th and Lewis.
The man, who has not been named by police, broke into the woman’s home and began assaulting her, Tulsa police said.
That’s when the woman shot him with a pistol, police said.
“She says she was asleep and her ex-boyfriend broke in and awoke to him assaulting her, so she shot him and summoned police,” said Tulsa Police Sgt. John Woods.
The man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman was being checked out by medics at the scene and later taken to the hospital police said.
