OKMULGEE, Okla. — A person of interest in an Okmulgee murder investigation has been transferred to the Okmulgee County Jail, according to the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office.

Joe Kennedy was taken to the Okmulgee County Jail for violating the terms of his probation on an assault and battery charge from 2012.

On Sunday, Oct. 9, four men from Okmulgee were reported missing. On Oct. 14, the dismembered remains of four men were found in the Deep Fork River.

The remains were later identified as the four missing men.

After the remains were identified, Kennedy was considered a person of interest in the investigation. Authorities also said he was missing.

Kennedy was later found, and arrested, in Florida on Oct. 17.
