NORMAN, Okla. — University of Oklahoma basketball guard Taylor Robertson broke the Division I women’s record for three-pointers in a game against the Iowa State Cyclones Saturday.
Robertson’s 498th three-pointer, beat out a record set from 2014 to 2018 by Ohio State Buckeyes player Kelsey Mitchell. Robertson, is a fifth-year senior for the Sooners, taking advantage of the extra season offered by the COVID-19 waiver from 2020-2021. However, she reached the record in one fewer game than Mitchell.
Sunday Oklahoma Basketball tweeted out a video, where she got a surprise congratulations message from Golden State point guard Steph Curry.

We told @T_Rob30 that we needed to get a reaction video from her. Little did she know that it was her reaction to a message from her idol, @StephenCurry30! pic.twitter.com/DDk7oHQt0W
In the message Curry said Robertson even beat out his college stats for three-pointers.
“I only made 414 threes in college, so you’ve been had me beat, so this is an amazing accomplishment for you,” Curry said. “Shooting 44% in your career while accomplishing that level of volume, that is unbelievable and I just want to say congratulations!”
In the video, her teammates them come in to tell her Curry plans to meet her at Monday’s OKC Thunder game to congratulate her in person.
