TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police say they got a call about shots fired in a south Tulsa neighborhood near 61st and Peoria around 10:45 p.m. Thursday night.
Captain Jerrod Hart says 22-year-old Cale Persinger showed up in the neighborhood in a stolen car, got out, and tried to get into a different car parked in front of the house.
Captain Hart says two residents in the home went outside to confront him. Police say Persinger started acting weird and reaching behind his back so the residents got scared and ran back into their house
At that point, TPD says one resident saw Persinger fire a gun into the air. Police say the resident reported hearing more shots and then a bullet went into their house.
Captain Hart says none of the five people inside were hit or injured.
Police say Persinger then ran down the street to a different home and tried to get inside. Captain Hart says the owner of that house armed himself to protect his wife and two daughters.
Officers then got on scene, put handcuffs on the suspect, and recovered his gun.
Captain Hart says Persinger then started resisting arrest, but they were eventually able to calm him down and take him to jail.
Hart says none of the people inside either house knew who Persinger was, and that there was no connection between them and the suspect.
