SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — The recent relisting of an oceanfront compound in Southampton could become the priciest real estate ever sold in an exclusive string of seaside communities popular among New York City’s most affluent residents.

According to CNBC , owner Louise Blouin, an art magazine publisher and collector, has struggled for years to find a buyer for the sprawling complex, known as “La Dune” in honor of the sandy dune behind which it’s nestled. The property spans more than four acres across two adjacent lots, featuring two mansions, two swimming pools and a sunken tennis court, among other amenities.
After avoiding a potential foreclosure and bankruptcy to maintain control of the Hamptons’ property, Blouin relisted “La Dune” in August with Nest Seekers International , asking $150 million for the compound that the company has rebranded as “The Spirit of Southampton.”
Listing agent Shawn Elliott of Nest Seekers told CNBC that the revised $150 million asking price for the compound – which includes both a classic Hamptons-style shingled main residence, originally constructed more than a century ago, and a second home built in the early 2000s on the adjacent lot – is reasonable based on property values alone.
“This house is the furthest thing from a tear-down, but if the house wasn’t here, this lot alone, each one of them would be worth $50 million,” Elliott told the network, adding, “”I believe this is, 100%, a very realistic price point to attract buyers in this marketplace.”
“La Dune” is co-listed by Elliott and Geoff Gifkins, CNBC confirmed .
